Urban Achievers
Crappy, out of focus pictures today. Not sure how that happened, but I don’t feel like taking them again. Today’s shirt is my softball’s team shirt. We are the (Little Lebowski) Urban Achievers. We’re finally getting to play another game tonight… the last few have been rained out. Purchase location: 6 Dollar Shirts (iron numbers from spot98)

A win!
The Little Lebowski Urban Achievers got off to a good start this softball season. After some confusion at the beginning of the game about who was playing where, and the lineup, things finally calmed down and we got settled in. We scored the first run of the game, but then fell behind 4-1. We scratched out another run on some great baserunning by our pitcher (after he failed to run out a popup that wasn’t caught, and only ended up on first), but things weren’t looking good. Going into the last inning, we were still down 4-2, when we finally woke up. Helped by a few defensive errors, we had a 12-run inning, and won the game 14-4. Sadly, we don’t yet have our team shirts, but they should be in by next week. I’m now 1-0 in my managerial career. And hopefully, I’ll be much better prepared next week.
No homers for me last night, but I went 4-6 with 6 RBI and a run scored. Strange line to have from the leadoff spot. All 6 runs driven in were with 2 outs, including a bases loaded triple. I also made a point to not walk at all last night. I swung at the first pitch for a 2 run single after back to back walks. One of my outs was a hard liner that the left fielder made a nice play on, and the other was a popup to the pitcher because I was trying to go to the opposite field. I need to learn how to do that. We won 21-9, shorthanded. We only had three outfielders instead of four last night. We made the playoffs, too! Of course, all 6 teams in the league made the playoffs, so I guess that’s not too impressive. We at least didn’t finish in last place. 5th outta 6 ain’t bad. :) (0)
I hit the first home run of my slow-pitch softball career tonight! A drive to the gap in center field, and I beat the throw home. It was one of only two pitches I swung at during the game. The other one, I fouled off. I only saw one called strike. The pitcher had a really hard time finding the plate, and most of them weren’t close. The HR probably would have been ball two in that AB. I finished 1-1, 3 BB, 2 RBI, 4 R. We won 12-11. It was fun. (1)
